Those are some unbelievable pictures. We are watching the water cause more damage as it heads towards St. Louis. It seems like 1993 was just yesterday.
Personally, we are far from the flooding. But the flooded areas are within 5-10 miles. This year isn't quite as bad because the Missouri River isn't too high. There are always those areas that flood repeatedly but it is weird when the water enters the developed areas, like when it entered downtown Des Moines. We have several large commercial and industrial centers around here that have built on ground that was well under water in '93 that are supposed to be protected by a new levee. I guess we will see.
